USB File Transfer

Each session's raw data and video can be easily copied from your iPhone®, iPad®, or Android device when connected to your computer via a USB cable.

iOS Devices
  • Connect your iOS device to your computer with its USB data cable and open iTunes.
  • Use the device button near the top to select your iOS device.
  • Go to the "File Sharing" section, and then click on TrackAddict.
  • Select the "Log-" files you want, and save them to your computer.
You should be able to click & drag these into a file folder on your computer.
  • The .CSV (data) and .MOV (video) files are already synchronized, so they can be used easily in RaceRender.

Android Devices
  • Connect your Android device to your computer with its USB data cable.
  • Put the Android device into USB "MTP" file transfer mode.
Swipe down from the top Status bar and set the USB mode to "MTP", "file transfer", or "media device"
  • Open the Android device's file system on your computer using Windows Explorer or Android File Transfer (for Mac users)
  • Navigate to the "Android/data/com.hptuners.trackaddict/files" folder.
Devices that have an SD card may offer two different, but similar-looking, storage areas or drives
  • Select the "Log-" files you want, and save them to your computer.
You should be able to click & drag these into a file folder on your computer.
  • The .CSV (data) and .MP4 (video) files are already synchronized, so they can be used easily in RaceRender.

Although files can be added, removed, or renamed through this interface, that is only recommended for advanced users. Please take note of the following points:
  • Session files must always begin with "Log-yyyymmdd-hhmmss "
    • "yyyymmdd" represents year/month/date, such as 20110817 (August 17, 2011)
    • "hhmmss" represents hour/minute/second, such as 154312 (15:43:12 / 3:43:12 PM)
  • Session file extensions are ".csv" and ".tad" for data, ".mov" or ".mp4" for video, and ".txt" for the session notes.
  • The video file name should be exactly the same as the data file name, except for a .mov/.mp4 extension instead of .csv
  • File data not created with this app, or which has been modified, may not work. If you want to view or render outside data / video, check out RaceRender.
  • The app should not be on the Sessions screen, or its sub-views, while you are manipulating session files, as this may result in an error or incorrect data.

  • The Tracks.dat file contains the records of your Circuit mode tracks, Segments.dat contains your Segment mode tracks, and Trails.dat contains 4x4 Trails. Each on these can be copied to or from other devices running the same version of this app.
  • If you change or replace the Tracks.dat, Segments.dat, or Trails.dat files in any way, it is strongly recommended that you shut the app down and restart it. In all cases, you must go to the Track Selection screen and select the track you want, to ensure that the data is refreshed from the file.

  • If you somehow manage to break things, first try shutting the app down and restarting it.
  • As a last resort, you can copy all files to your computer, remove them from the app via USB, and restart the app. You can then add the files back one at a time, to find which one causes problems.
